So, the other day I went to the gym and managed to come home with a £250 chintz 18th Century chair...I really couldn't stop myself.
Unfortunately for my bank account my gym looks over the vintage market which is in the car park opposite every Saturday. I pretty much arrived and left straight away!
I had been to the gym a couple weeks before and had seen these chairs but I was too late to go down and have a proper look as the guy was packing up. I went the next week to see if they were there and they weren't so this week I didn't bother going which was a mistake which is why I ran out of the gym the second I saw them!
There were two of them and one of them had a £550 price tag on it which disheartened me as that was far too much! Thankfully I asked the guy - just to make sure - and he said that that was for both of them and for one he would sell it for £250. I know it's still a lot of money but when it comes to vintage it's a matter of buy now or never see again. Also, it's a chair, you always need a chair. I chair is for life - or how I justify it!
I have been dreaming of buying a chair like this and now it has come true! My bedroom is now starting to look like the ritz with all the gilt and chintz! Love it.
