Oxford Love

I can't think of any reason why one shouldn't love Oxford shoes. They're chic, they're classy, they have Engligh origin and they're the rage this season. When Leighton Meester a.k.a Blair Waldorf wears it or does Taylor Swift, they ought to be taken seriously. I bought myself a gorgeous pair of oxford shoes in suede in a nice tan color yesterday and I think I reached what we call a shoe-gasm! Ok, sorry if you thought that was perverse but really, its hard to control your emotions when beauty stares you right in the face. I have been eyeballing a variety of brogues and it suffices to say that the inspiration below sums it all up!
via westervin.com
My shoes are like the teal ones on the top right hand corner, in a shade of brown. Love them all, don't you? :)
Two important things I would like to share with my readers:
  1. The lovely Jahnobi of Jahn 'n Style asked me to guest blog for her fab blog, so hop on over here and read about the Bejeweled Flashback! :)
  2. Over the last 4 years I have hoarded way too much clothing and I thought a good idea will be to put it up for sale for my readers in case they would be interested in some of my pieces at awesome prices. This is a trial thing so the first item I'm going to try this with is the rust colored blouse you have seen me wear here. Just email me if you might be interested and all other details would be shared with you via email. The first request obviously gets served first. Lets see how this goes :)

*The Finale*

The day finally came for the finale of my degree - our Graduate Fashion Show. It was probably the most exhilarating and emotional experiences I've ever had, just 3 minutes long and it's over. It's a moment which will stay with me forever and I wish I could watch it over and over again!

My collection came onto the catwalk to the song 'Goldfinger' by Shirley Bassey which really impacted.
If I haven't explained the inspiration for my collection then here goes...My fundamental aim was to create impact - something glamorous, sophisticated and sexy which reflects my style and love of evening wear. I wanted to combine the femininity of drape and the masculinity of tailoring in a womanswear collection which has a reflection upon James Bond. Strong tenacious man vs beautiful sexy woman. What can be worn on a man can look just as - if not more - attractive on a woman. I always had this visual in my head of this chivalrous gentleman lending his lover his dinner jacket after a night partying at a masquerade ball. From that I think you can get the jist!

The Assembly Rooms - which is where I also did my photoshoot - was the perfect backdrop for the show. There were some grumbles over the positioning of the stage which I was very disappointed about as they didn't position it down the centre of the room below the chandeliers however, we didn't have a say in the matter - as usual.

The last 3 years have been a real roller-coaster and I'm so pleased with the results but I can't say I would ever want to go back and do it again. If there are any fashion design hopefuls out there then I don't mean to put you off but (I really want to write 'run while you still can!') be aware of how costly it is and that you are passionate and motivated enough to sacrifice a lot for it - but also achieve a lot!

I've managed to come out the other end - just - and what comes next? You'll just have to wait and see!!

Coral's Sweetheart

After the short stint of disappearance, I have made a comeback with the post we all love :) It is an outfit post, yes and yes, there is the color coral involved. If that didn't get you hooked, then I don't know what will ;)
The job's keeping me busy and turns out the work is more time consuming than I thought. Its a lot of fun and the sense of joy after finishing the day's share of hardwork is a joy like no other!
Back to the post, the pictures are from my dinner out today. Btw, since I'm already on the topic, the cheesecake at Olive is to swear by! Dinner-dessert-coffee. Life is just fine!
Photographer for the pictures: Ay :)
Wearing:
Black body-con dress as Top: Supre (Australia)
Orange Bubble Skirt: Zara
Blue *Disco* Shoes: Carvela by Kurt Geiger (Gifted)
Hair Band with rosette: Sister's Europe trip (Paris, I believe)
Bag: Guess
Jewelery: Gifted(Mom-Dad)

What do you think? Orange skirt and coral make up was definitely the order of the day! :)

Be Back Tomorrow Night with Updates!

Hey everyone!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! Mine was pretty busy with a father's day celebration (Happy belated Father's Day to all you dads out there!!) and two graduation parties for my cousins (congrats to grads out there too!!) so I wasn't on my computer at all. I just wanted to give you all a heads up because I won't be online today either. My sister is having minor surgery today and I will be with her at the hospital. I'm going straight from work and I'm not sure when I'll be home. I will be back tomorrow with updates though as I'm off and will have plenty of time to post some news!

Have a great Monday! See you tomorrow!

PS: My eBay auctions are ending today. I received emails from a few of you wondering about international shipping. I will be re-listing items that didn't sell on Friday and will include international rates. I didn't the first time and I apologize but I definitely will next time around. I'll post all info as soon as it's up! Thanks everybody!!

UPDATE: Rather than write a whole new post, I just want to give you all a quick update. I will not be able to update the blog until early next week. Last night, my great uncle passed away (which is why I wasn't able to post) and I will be spending the remainder of the next few days with my family. Funeral/wake arrangements were being made today so when I know for sure when his services will be, I will then post to let you all know when I will be returning. eBay auctions will also be put on the back burner for a bit. Thanks for your support everyone! This has definitely been the toughest year ever! xo

UPDATE #2: Hey everyone.. just to let you know, I will be back on Monday after work. Services will be Friday & Saturday. Thank you for your understanding and continued support! It means the world to me.. especially during this extremely difficult year. xo

La,la,la,la,la,la LIFE!

Wow where does time go when your, erm ...living it?! 'It' being that funny thing known as ahem, 'Life'. Well I do have photo's to post about time after such a long break from blogging! I have recently bought 4 beautiful 60s dresses, resulting in me not daring to look at my bank account!

I hope you all had a lovely fathers day for those of you in the UK, I miss my dad very much so I just try and get through the day as quickly as possible to be honest!

This week I am desperately aiming to increase the amount of exercise I do! Wish me luck! Desperately trying to avoid the 30yr old spread....only 6 mths til the BIG 30!

Ok, walking to work now in the sunshine, and as a parting gift...check out these shoes from topshop - I haven't been so impressed with high street shoes such as this for a long time! Way to go topshop! What d'ya think? PS On a sunny morning Bob Marley tunes are the best, but you knew that? Right?

Updo Tutorial

Greetings Fellas!
This post is a guest post done by my BFF- A.C. who did my updo for the GNO(Girls Night Out, again :P) here.
On popular demand and my personal adoration of her hairstyles, she very kindly agreed to do this post for me and click pictures for every step. Follow this and get this desired look:
Hi, this is my first experiment with hair styling and S was kind enough to let me style her hair, so here goes:
The first step for this updo is to make sure your hair isn't freshly washed. Give it atleast 4 to 5 hours after the hair wash.
STEP 1.
For fixing the hairband in place divide your hair into 3 sections with two in the front, near your forehead thinner than the larger one which should behind the hair band. Fix your hairband with these two sections outside the hairband.
STEP 1
STEP 2.
Take the section on the right hand side and twist it, mixing it with some hair behind the hairband. Pin this with a small bob pin.
STEP 2
STEP 3.
On the left side comb all the hair in the section over the hairband and fix it halfway along the back of your head finishing it neatly.
STEP 3
STEP 4.
Now take a small section of hair that has been left loose behind and twist them into a coil. Fix it with a small bob pin. Repeat this for the section from the left side.
STEP 4
STEP 4(2)
STEP 5.
Repeat STEP 4 till almost all sections of the hair are finished. Leave a little hair loose at the bottom of your head above the nape.
STEP 5
STEP 6.
Now divide this hair into 3 sections and make loose plaits. Pin these plaits around the coil in any random order.
STEP 6
Final Result:
Tell us if the tutorial was helpful! And also tell me if you try it out and take pictures and mail them to me :)
Ok, I'll stop being so demanding!
Thanks for the post BFF.
XOXO

Lush-Lip Scrub

This is my latest goodie from the house of Lush. House of Lush, as I like to call it, is the best spot in the entire mall. Even if you happen to be opposite the store, in the row parallel to it, you cannot help but whiff like a little puppy when the scent of all things yummy, ok maybe not yummy, enter your olfactory sense. I put my suave face on and just pretend to not notice it while I'm secretly lapping it all up! :D
Moving on, we were on one of our casual mall strolls when I ended up picking the BubbleGum Lip Scrub from Lush. Its packed in this heavy little pretty glass bottle and smells like heaven. Two things I noticed first :)
Now on to its utility, its not a replacement for a lip balm, most certainly not. But what it does is scrub off the dead skin from your lips, leaving them smelling of bubble gum without any sheen of course.
This is what Lush claims about their product:
Our fabulous lip scrubs are here to keep your kissers sweet. This one will make your lips smell like our best-selling Snow Fairy shower gel. Bubblegum is made with exfoliating castor sugar and our delicious vegan flavour to gently scrub away rough skin, keeping your lips smooth and kissably soft. Simply rub it over your lips when they're feeling the need for some sugar.
I agree, to the extent  that it does act like the scrub that they claim it is. Smells yum. *Undeniably*
My only issue with it is that its slightly messy. The sugar particles get stuck to your lips and refuse to fall off on their own accord and the only way they will leave your lips is if you brush them off. Not on yourself please, they get stuck on clothing too. EEEECKKKS.
Price: Rs 600.
If you're looking for a lip scrub, go for it. *Also, you can eat the bubblegum flavoured sugar bits sometimes* Ok, sorry, gross, don't eat it. Just kidding, its sugar, eat it :D

The gorgeous Danielle Lineker attended the Royal Ascot this week and to the event she dressed up in a stunning Victoria Beckham piece that looked amazing on her! Danielle, aka Mrs. Gary Lineker, wore the blush V-neck bell dress, #89, from the spring 2011 collection. She accessorized with an over sized hat and a pair of suede Louboutins that perfectly complimented the gross-grain belt of the dress. LOVELY!

David Launches Samsung's 2012 Olympic Campaign

As one of the world's most famous sportsmen, David Beckham is used to being center stage. But next year the English soccer star is looking forward to being "a fan" in what he tells CNN will be "one of the best, if not the best Olympics of all time."

Beckham has been a key backer of the event and was present as an official ambassador in Singapore in 2005 when London was handed the Olympics for the third time -- becoming the first city to do so in the modern era. He remained coy about his possible involvement with Team GB, preferring to focus on his nomination of 18-year-old Gabriella Roseje as one of 8,000 torch bearers for the pre-Olympics relay next year.

"My goal is first I want to be a fan at the Olympics and support our Team GB to win as many medals, to win as many gold medals, and to make our country proud, which they will do because we've got so many great young athletes that have been around for a while," Beckham, also an ambassador for 2012 sponsor Samsung, told CNN.

"So, it's an exciting time, and with my involvement I just want to be a part of it. For it to be in the East End of London is a proud moment for myself, and to be there with my sons, possibly my daughter, my wife, it's going to be a proud moment for not only myself but for many people in this country."

Beckham said people like Roseje, from the south-east London area of Bermondsey, represented a bright future for British sport. "It's what she does for other people is one of the reasons I've sat up and taken notice in the special things that she's done," he said.

"It's young people like Gabriella that are going to be inspired by the Olympics in our country. People are going to be looking at Gabriella thinking, 'How can I achieve what she's achieving, how can I do something that she's doing by helping so many young people? Not just athletes but kids around the world and especially in the UK, what she is doing for her charity and what she is doing for young kids. These kids look up to this young lady and that's inspiring. That's what the Olympics can do, not just in this country but all around the world, and that's why our country will make this Olympics one of the best, if not the best Olympics of all time."

Beckham said he is happy in the United States, where he plays for Los Angeles Galaxy and lives with his wife Victoria, sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz -- and his imminent first daughter.

"I've had such an exciting career so far ... when it will end, who knows. I continue to enjoy my football like I'm doing, I love playing. Until that changes, then I'll continue to play whether that will be here or in the U.S. I'm enjoying my time playing for the Galaxy and have no reason to move anywhere else."

Beckham is still a regular visitor to the UK, and was a guest at the Royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton in April. "They're an amazing couple that a month ago made our country so proud to see their amazing occasion," he said. "To have watched Prince Harry and Prince William grow up from such a young age and go through what they have gone through -- it was such an amazing occasion for our country. To be part of that was incredible."

Final Collection Illustrations

I felt it was about time to refresh my blog as I have neglected it a lot lately so I do apologise to those of you who are avid readers! ;)
The reason for this is is mainly due to how busy I have been with Graduate Fashion Week last week and the organisation of the BSU Graduate Fashion Show next week (both of which I will fill you all in on later).
Having printed and presented my portfolio at GFW I feel that there is no need to hide any work now. Therefore I thought I would upload all my illustrations of my collection.

My Ebay Items are Up!

Hey everybody! I know this is just supposed to be a blog dedicated to Victoria and David Beckham, but I do have some knews to share. I have recently added about 15 items or so on Ebay and am going to be adding the rest tomorrow. I have a bit of everything (some may not be up just yet as I have to finish photographing the rest) - including designer/name brand items, shoes, lots of jewelry, and maybe a Spicy thing or two ;)

Check out my listings here!

And don't forget, there's more to come tomorrow so check back!

C is for Cookie

Om Nom Nom Nom is the mantra of my life and I tend to say 'meeeeeeeeeee likes coooooooookieeeeeeeeee' very often to just about anybody when I feel like it. If you still haven't figured, I am a Cookie Monster( Read: Sesame Street) junkie! As much as I like Bert, Ernie, Elmo, Kermit and the others..there is no one quite like Cookie Monster. C is for Cookieeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! :)
So while I had been hunting down for the perfect Cookie monster tee, the search wasn't quite yielding desired results. I found one at Zara which on a trial actually looked really sloppy (and my friend would vouch for it!) and was automatically dropped. I have always been a serious fan of graphic cartoon tees. You would remember my Disney escapade here and so it should not come as a surprise of sorts when I tell you the amount of energy that went into looking for the perfect Coooooooooooookie' Monsterrrrrr tee!
But like they say, some people have the slickest ways of bringing a smile on your face and when I found my Cookie Monster tee in a pile of goodies, needless to say I went slightly COOOOOOOOOOOKIE :D
After this very cookilicious story, see below for my 'evening-out-with-friends' version of what I would like to call the Cookie Monster Outfit :D
Wearing:
Cookie Monster Tee!
Shorts: Esprit
Quilted bag with flower/pearl detailing: Forever New
Leopard printed peep toes: *Some shoe store* in Chandigarh
Watch with big colorful dial: United Colors of Benetton

Also, for those of you who appreciated my hair do from the previous post, stay tuned for the hair do tutorial, its coming up reallllllllllll soon along with many others. *Having long hair automatically makes you the lab rat for all experiments* But I'm not complaining ;)
XOXO

Mel C: "Victoria's Excited for a Baby Girl!"

Mel C has revealed that former Spice Girls bandmate Victoria Beckham is "thrilled" to be having a daughter.

The singer commented that the designer, who already has three sons - Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, 8, and 6-year-old Cruz - with her husband David Beckham, can't wait for her baby girl to be born.

"Victoria is thrilled to be having a girl. She was very, very excited to let us all know," she told Bang Showbiz.

"Her boys are absolutely lovely and beautiful - they're beautiful boys - but them having a little sister is a dream come true. She's going to be the best looked-after little girl in the whole world."

Mel also said that if Victoria and David's daughter is anything like her parents she will be taking over her mother's fashion business when she grows up.

She added: "I'm sure she's going to be very stylish if she follows in her parents' footsteps - they're both very fashionable people. She'll be taking over that fashion empire in no time!"

David & Brooklyn Out and About

David and Brooklyn were spotted out and about in LA this past week. The father and son duo were driving around town in the Beckhams' black Range Rover Sport... the car that Victoria notoriously drives around in.
